Thank You
Ever since we launched The Engaged Gaze back in June, a lot has happened in the world, both good and bad. While we sometime seem to focus on the bad things that have occurred, one of the best things to come out of the election of 45 is a growing tide of people that are now saying they are mad as hell, and they aren't going to take it any longer. No longer will we stay silent in the face of oppression.
Marci, Sara, and I (John), wanted to take a few minutes to express how truly thankful we are to each and every one of you that have taken time out of your lives to engage with us and the amazing contributors that write for the site. We created this space to be both a voice for the resistance as well as be a place where scholars, activists, and every day citizens can share their opinions and express themselves. It is not easy to put yourself out there like some of our contributors have and we want to make sure we honor their voices and their commitment to the site.
We look forward to launching Phase 2 of the Engaged Gaze in early 2018 where we plan, among many things, to set up a listserve that gets our content out even further and an Engaged Gaze podcast to name just a few. If you or a friend want to contribute to the site, we welcome you with open arms. Please email us at engagedgaze@gmail.com if you are interested in joining the team!
As we enter another busy holiday season, we want to make sure that our readers know one thing: we will not rest until we hold the powerful accountable. We will continue to work, write, and advocate for progressive issues across the board. This is our promise and we hope you'll join us as we end 2017 and go into another year of resisting and toppling the fascist and patriarchal regime in the White House, Congress, and beyond!
In Fierce Solidarity,
